| Melton United football team 1931/1932. The
photograph is believed to have been taken at Wootton, a small
village approximately four miles from Melton Ross. The match
was thought to have been against a team called "Brigg Springs".
The original photograph appeared in a local newspaper, with the
following caption. CUP WINNERS. Melton
United football team, winners of the Lady Wiggin Cup, presented for
a knock-out competition between the six bottom clubs in the Humber
and District League at the close of the season. Left to right:
