approximately sixteen miles inland from the north east coast of the
United Kingdom on the edge of the Lincolnshire wolds. The fishing
port town of Grimsby is the nearest town to the east of the
villages, and the market town of Brigg is five miles to the west.
The steel town of Scunthorpe is fifteen miles to the west, and the
town of Barton-upon-Humber is nine miles to the north.
