The Gallows

The gallows
The gallows, erected by order of James 1st with the instruction that any more deaths caused by the feuding of the Ross and Tyrwhit families should be punished as murder.  Although obviously not the original gallows they still stand to this day by the side of the A18 road midway between the villages of Melton Ross and Wrawby.
