Melton Ross & New Barnetby aerial view

Shown above is an aerial view of Melton Ross and New Barnetby villages. Melton Ross is to the top of the photograph, New Barnetby is beyond the level crossing gates. The main east coast railway line that marks the boundary between Melton Ross and New Barnetby villages can be seen.

In the grass field towards the top of the photograph to the left of the houses, the indentation of what was the moat that surrounded the supposedly Ross castle or stronghold can be seen.

At the top of the photograph nestled amongst the trees the Church of The Ascension can just be seen. The road running across the top of the photograph is the A18.
